HISTORY
Since 1940
![]() From orchards to vegetable gardens, meadows to elegant flower gardens, Henri Denogent, a young arboriculture graduate, trimmed trees, pruned box hedges, raked gravel-covered paths, planted flower beds and hauled his ladder and tools from one property to another. His meticulous labour gradually won him the confidence of an extensive and loyal clientele, and led to a flourishing business in the gardener’s paradise of his corner of Switzerland. Seventeen years later, Roger Denogent, accompanied by his wife, Janine, chose to follow in his father’s path. He rapidly expanded on the garden maintenance business to include the creation of new gardens he designed and realised himself. ![]() Roger’s compositions, based on his keen observation of the plant world, are characterised by intelligence, an extremely fine touch in the earthmoving phase, the judicious choice of the materials he uses and the care he applies to their installation. These qualities result in gardens that stand up to the passage of time without ever ageing or fading. Quite the contrary; whether they measure a few square metres or several acres, over the years the gardens designed by Roger Denogent come into an ever greater amplitude and harmony, which are the mark of an approach that is both knowledgeable and respectful of nature. |
These projects include the “Maison Blanche” hedgerows and the “Les Fossés” promenade created a quarter century ago in Prangins, Switzerland. The growth and extent of the commissions was paralleled by a steady increase in staff in the field. A genuine enterprise was born. Business premises were added to the family home, workshops were built, new buildings took shape to house more workshops, storage facilities and machinery. In 1990, Marina Denogent, a landscape architect, joined her parents in the family firm. True to the spirit of her elders, she focuses on innovation and developing new business sectors. |
